“Producing hundreds per year is something no one in Europe can do at the moment”. ZfT board member Klaus Schilling wants to change that as part of the large-scale ForFabSat project launched in October at the Centre for Telematics. Within a year, a first production line is to be built, which will assemble satellites from individual components using high-tech automation.

The ZfT is supported in this by the German Space Agency at DLR, with funds approved from the German federal budget.

On the occasion of Prof. Dr. Klaus Schilling’s farewell lecture at the University of Würzburg, Bayerischer Rundfunk reported in detail about the work on the satellite factory (to the report with video).
